The Final Fantasy Concert : Distant Worlds was a blast!

Posted in General, Outing at 6:11 am by bernutz

Last night was a dream come true! It was truly amazing and enchanting for 2 reasons. First being my first concert show at the Esplande and second being one of the audience at the concert of one of my favorite game series!

Nobuo Uematsu san’s presence made the night all the more exciting and magical. Arnie Roth was great and the so are all the other performers. I enjoyed every minute of my time there and it made me want to go home and play my final fantasy games all over again haha. It was a pity that i didn’t bring anything for Uematsu san’s autograph but I will the next time they come back again!

I am sorry there isn’t any pictures as camera wasn’t allowed in the theatre.

My last day

Posted in General at 4:06 pm by bernutz

Today 13 May 2009 marks my last working day with my company, Elsevier. I have been working there for about 2 years and I can say that I pretty much enjoyed my experience there. I have learned alot and also gain new friends. A few even got to know my deepest secrets haha.

From today onwards, I am going to enjoy my break. Learn more about photography, take more photos, lose some weight then return to the workforce energized. I hope I can fulfill everything especially the weight losing part lol.

AWARE is finally returned to the rightful owners.

Posted in General at 5:20 pm by bernutz

I am sure many people who have read the newspaper or watch the news on TV should be familiar with this saga happening in Singapore. Personally, I am deeply saddened on the sudden hostile take over of this secular organization and at the same time very glad that I am not a Christian. I know that it is not right to link this to Christianity but one have to admit that religion was one of the main catalyst that sparks this event.

This group of new exco reminds me of the extremist that uses of name of ‘jihad’ to cause havoc around the world. If these fundamentalists have gotten their way in this secular civil society, everyone really have to worry. These women and their church have given Christianity a bad name and it gives me one more reason why I refuse to join them. Of many religions in this world, Christianity is one of those that do not respect humans as intellectual creatures with their own thoughts and views. They would try to FORCE their views onto you and preach all day long that you will go to hell if you don’t believe in them. They will demand respect yet NOT give you any. They will backstab other churches and sprout nonsense about why their church is better than the other (shouldn’t they be ‘brothers’ & ‘sisters’). I have seen enough Christians to say quite a number of them are hypocrites. You can see them praying to God every Sunday but they SIN almost every other day.

To end this post, I would like to say that I do believe in GOD but I do not believe in the bible nor Jesus. If I have to go to hell because of that, so be it. Again, it is a relief that most Singaporean have shown wisdom in this AWARE saga and have voted for the right cause.

Note to Dr Thio Su Mien: I am shocked and appalled that after many years of studying, you do not know that respect must be earned, not given.

My journey to photography

Posted in Photography, Rant at 1:37 pm by bernutz

When I first thought of taking up photography as a hobby, I only have one thing in mind. And that is to learn how to take a good photo. It is THAT simple. However as some people found out that I am going to use a compact digital camera to learn photography, I got mixed reaction.

The thing that pisses me off is when some chuckle at the camera I’m using, some said “Huh? Are you going to use that?” and some hinted that I should have bought a DSLR if I wanted to take good photos. The F word is just at the tip of my tongue when I hear this. Who says only a DSLR can take good photos? I am not talking about those professionally taken photos okay. The more I think about it the more I am determined to continue using my compact digital camera to take good photos!

Currently I am reading up on photography and practicing on my own. Once I have made some improvements, I will be joining a few friends for some photo taking outings and I will post them here again.

My Birthday…

Posted in General tagged at 3:07 pm by bernutz

I am one year older now and these few days there have been more than usual birthday wishes and celebrations for me. I wonder why… Maybe it is because as you grow older you got to know more people? Or is it because I have been doing better in socialising? For whatever reasons, I’m grateful and happy to receive so many well wishes.

Thank you all!!

IT show

Posted in General tagged at 3:47 pm by bernutz

I went to the IT show last thusday and friday to buy some stuff which I have always wanted to buy. It was really crowded on the 2 days that I have went, however there wasn’t as many people buying stuff as the last IT show. Alot of people were buying the LCD TVs though, there were alot of good deals there.

I myself bought a digital camera, a 500Gb portable hard-drive and an in-ear earphone. Total damage at about $600. First time I ever spend so much at any IT shows lol. Partly was because of me having saved a long time to buy them and also I have got a pretty good bonus this year. I did took some pictures of my hoots but I have not uploaded them yet. Once i have uploaded them, I will post them again.

Here’s the photos…

I’m going to my first concert at Esplande!

Posted in General, Outing tagged at 9:26 am by bernutz

Woohoo! Thanks to my friend Shun who told me about this Final Fantasy concert event if not I would have missed it again. I missed the concert last year because the tickets were sold out damn fast. This time is no different. Although the concert is in May 2009 and there are 2 days, the saturday concert is already almost sold out! We had no choice but to settle with the Friday concert and I said I wanted the VIP seat ($80) lol. It is my first concert at the Esplande and I want it to be the best.

For those who are interested in this as well. Faster get your tickets before it is sold out. SISTIC

*Conductor Arnie Roth is a Grammy Award winning artist known for his work with Diana Ross, Charlotte Church, Art Garfunkel and he has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony and the BBC Symphony amongst others. Final Fantasy one of my very favorite RPG game from Square Enix and I going nutz about this concert.

WordPress for nutz

Posted in General tagged at 6:30 am by bernutz

Ok that’s it. After trying out blogspot and totally hating it, I decided to give wordpress a chance since I am used to their interface because I used wordpress template for my old blog (www.ad-ber.com) as well.

I just love wordpress! It is very user-friendly with nice templates to choose and they are really easy to implement. Blogspot templates have many errors. Maybe I’m being bias. Heck…
